Ms. Arasi Arul graduated in computer science and engineering with a first-class degree and dreamed to pursue a master’s in business administration in any of the top Business Schools in the USA. Her plans crashed when she couldn’t continue her pursuit due to family situations. She joined her father and helped in the administration of his Clinic & Lab Chain, the Arma Labs. But she refused to give up her dream of doing an MBA and took up Executive MBA at LIBA, Loyola Campus, one of the top-rated business schools in India, at which she graduated with laurels. With her fervour for business, and her acquired skills through her education, she started ‘Zha’ (ழ) Café, at that time, the world’s first and only Tamil Ethnic Themed Coffee shop. Zha Café was highly popular among patrons and critics alike. The head-turning front façade, the unique and surprising interior themes, the nostalgia triggering traditional games and activities, the awesome choices of both traditional and fusion food served, etc., made Zha a very popular destination among youth and old alike. She managed to develop a franchise model too. She was awarded ‘Tamil Youth Icon’ award at the National University of Singapore(NUS) for proving a model of success to show Tamil Language has the potential to provide great opportunities in all areas. Ms.Arasi Arul is a member of Human Rights Commission , Government of India.
