Dr. Niha Kamal Basha currently serves as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Information Security at the School of Computer Science and Engineering, Vellore Institute of Technology (VIT-Vellore), India. Her academic journey includes being awarded the prestigious Maulana Azad National Fellowship by UGC (2015-2020) to support her doctoral research. She holds an M.Tech in Computer Science and Engineering from Crescent Institute of Science and Technology, Chennai, and a B.Tech in Computer Science and Engineering from Avinashilingam University, Coimbatore. Dr. Basha has made significant contributions to the fields of machine learning, deep learning, and image processing, with her work published in esteemed journals such as IEEE, Springer, and Inderscience, all indexed in Scopus/SCI. Recognized for her scholarly achievements, Dr. Basha received the Research Excellence Award in 2021 from InSc, India. She actively participates in academic activities, serving as a reviewer and session co-chair for IEEE conferences and organizing special sessions at international conferences. She is also involved in knowledge dissemination through webinars and national workshops, leveraging her expertise in areas like machine learning, deep learning, and signal processing. Dr. Basha holds a patent in her research domain and plays a pivotal role as an academic mentor in the Samsung PRISM Program. As an active member of IEEE, her current research interests span across Machine Learning, Deep Learning, Pattern Detection, Brain-Computer Interface, IoT/IoMT, and Blockchain technologies, aiming to advance understanding and applications in these cutting-edge fields.
