Dr. Alwin Poulose is a distinguished academic and researcher whose journey in the field of electronics and electrical engineering has been nothing short of inspiring. He earned his B.Sc. in Computer Maintenance and Electronics from Union Christian College in Aluva, India, in 2012, followed by an M.Sc. in Electronics from MES College in Marampally, India, in 2014. His thirst for knowledge propelled him to complete an M.Tech. in Communication Systems at Christ University, Bengaluru, in 2017, culminating in a Ph.D. in Electronics and Electrical Engineering from Kyungpook National University in Daegu, South Korea, in 2021.
Dr. Poulose’s professional journey includes a pivotal role as a Researcher at the Center for ICT and Automobile Convergence (CITAC), where he contributed to the development of advanced localization and mapping systems for autonomous vehicles. His expertise further expanded during his tenure as a Research Fellow at the University of Michigan–Dearborn, where he collaborated on cutting-edge projects in electrical and computer engineering.
Since January 2023, Dr. Poulose has been an Assistant Professor at the School of Data Science at the Indian Institute of Science Education and Research Thiruvananthapuram (IISER TVM), Vithura, Kerala, India. His research interests encompass localization, human activity recognition, facial emotion recognition, and human behavior prediction, making him a leading figure in these innovative areas.
In addition to his research, Dr. Poulose plays an active role in the academic community as a reviewer for prominent international journals in engineering and science. He has also contributed his expertise as a technical program committee member and session chair at various international conferences, showcasing his commitment to advancing the field.
