With a passion for global education and student empowerment, she plays a key role in supporting aspiring international students from Sri Lanka, Pakistan, Laos, Cambodia, and Singapore. Her commitment to guiding students through transformative academic journeys is backed by a solid understanding of cultural dynamics and the international admissions process.

Beyond her university role, Thejanie is a freelance Japanese translator and interpreter, bridging language and cultural gaps with ease and accuracy. She is also a motivational speaker, frequently engaging with youth through webinars, talks, and mentoring sessions to inspire confidence and purpose. Her earlier experience as a Sales and Marketing Officer in the telecommunications sector adds to her versatile communication and leadership skills. Her unique career path is a testament to her dedication to cross-cultural understanding, education, and personal growth.

Her areas of expertise include Japanese translation and interpretation, international admissions counseling, career coaching, and public speaking. She holds the distinction of being the first Sri Lankan AFS exchange student to Japan after the program’s restart in 2005, and the first Sri Lankan to complete a Japanese-basis degree at APU (2014–2018). Thejanie’s work continues to open global doors for students and professionals alike, making her a valuable voice in international education and cultural exchange.
