Dr. Ekta Baranwal is a renowned geospatial specialist, researcher, consultant, and author with over 13 years of professional experience, including more than eight years dedicated to advancing geospatial science. Her expertise lies at the intersection of spatial technology, sustainable development, and policy alignment, where she has led and contributed to global projects that shape the future of geospatial ecosystems. With a Ph.D. in Civil Engineering from Jamia Millia Islamia, New Delhi, Dr. Baranwal has pioneered novel spectral indices for urban mapping and demonstrated excellence in UAV photogrammetry during her tenure at the Indian Institute of Remote Sensing, ISRO, where she supported cultural heritage conservation through high-resolution 3D modeling.
Dr. Baranwal’s research spans a wide spectrum—ranging from disaster impact assessment and sustainable urban development to water resource management, biodiversity conservation, and renewable energy. She has provided critical insights across diverse sectors including agriculture, mining, energy, and urban planning, helping shape strategic platform designs and technology adoption pathways.
Beyond her technical and strategic achievements, Dr. Baranwal is also a passionate educator and mentor. She has contributed to capacity building through geospatial training modules, expert lectures, and public outreach, promoting inclusive knowledge sharing and interdisciplinary collaboration.
