Dr. S. Lakshmi is a distinguished academician and researcher in the field of Electrical and Electronics Engineering, currently serving as the Professor and Head of the Electrical Department at Bharath Institute of Higher Education and Research. She completed her B.E. in Electrical & Electronics Engineering from Manonmaniam Sundaranar University in 2003 with First Class, followed by an M.E. in Power Electronics & Drives from Anna University, Chennai, in 2008, where she graduated with First Class with Distinction. Dr. Lakshmi further earned her Ph.D. from Anna University in 2019, with a focus on advanced power conversion systems and renewable energy technologies.

With over a decade of experience in academia, Dr. Lakshmi has made significant contributions to teaching and research. She has previously held roles as Associate Professor at Saveetha University and PERI Institute of Technology, and as Lecturer and Assistant Professor at Madha Engineering College, Chennai. Her achievements include receiving a ₹50,000 grant from DST-SERB for organizing an international conference and acting as a convener for several national and international conferences and guest lectures. Dr. Lakshmi is also a dedicated mentor, currently guiding five Ph.D. scholars and overseeing more than 20 UG/PG projects.

Dr. Lakshmi has made impactful contributions to research with over 15 papers published in SCI, WOS, and Scopus-indexed journals and conferences. She has filed patents related to power conversion systems, renewable energy technologies, and drone innovations. Additionally, she has organized AICTE-approved short-term courses on Artificial Intelligence and Big Data Analysis and participated in numerous FDPs and training programs on electric vehicles and renewable energy systems conducted by prestigious institutes like IITs and NITs. Her Ph.D. thesis titled “Design and Development of a Non-Isolated High Gain Interleaved Boost Converter” reflects her expertise in power systems and renewable energy.
