Ms. Shaile Thakur is an accomplished professional with a strong background in forensic science education and practical experience. She completed her Master of Science in Forensic Science at Gujarat Forensic Science University (GFSU/NFSU) in Gandhinagar, Gujarat, India, from July 2018 to November 2020. Prior to this, she earned her Bachelor of Science in Forensic Science and Criminology at Bundelkhand University in Jhansi, India, from June 2015 to May 2018. Ms. Thakur’s commitment to the field of forensic science is evident through her current role as an Assistant Professor at GFSU/NFSU, where she has been teaching various forensic subjects since July 2023. Her previous teaching experience includes a tenure as an Assistant Professor at Vivekananda Global University (VGU) in Jaipur, Rajasthan, from October 2021 to June 2023. At VGU, she taught a diverse range of subjects, including Forensic Ballistics, Question Document Analysis, Forensic Medicine, and more to both undergraduate and postgraduate students. She also assumed additional responsibilities as Laboratory In-charge, Club In-charge, NAAC coordinator, and a member of the Internal Quality Assurance Cell. In addition to her academic roles, Ms. Thakur has contributed to the field by taking on internships at Forensic Science Laboratories in Ahmedabad, Gujarat, and Sagar, Madhya Pradesh. During her internship at FSL Ahmedabad in October 2019, she gained hands-on experience in forensic biology, serology, chemistry, and toxicology. She conducted forensic analyses, and scientific examinations of evidence materials, and determined factors in the cause and manner of death. Her work included forensic toxicology and the analysis of samples using various analytical instruments. During her internship at FSL Sagar in May 2018, Ms. Thakur focused on forensic medicine and forensic document analysis. She also participated in on-site investigations and contributed to crime scene reconstructions. Her role involved identifying, collecting, testing, and classifying evidence from crime scenes. Ms. Shaile Thakur’s dedication to the field of forensic science is exemplified not only by her academic achievements but also by her practical experience and active participation in various roles within the academic and research community. She continues to make a significant impact on the field as an Assistant Professor and through her research contributions and internships.
